Open ChatGPT and go to Plugins, search for DNS Inspector, and click Install plugin. Once connected, you can ask things like "Check the DNS records for example.com.".
Open Claude.ai (or the Claude Desktop App) and go to Settings → Connectors, click on Browse, search for DNS Inspector, and click Connect to Claude. Once connected, you can ask things like "Check the DNS records for example.com.".
Just the domain name you want to inspect, e.g. example.com. The app looks up its A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, and SOA records in a single query.
See our Privacy Policy for details on how any information you share is handled.
Not every domain has every record type configured. If a section shows "No records found," it usually means that record type isn't set up for the domain, or the domain doesn't exist. DNS changes can also take time to propagate.
Try disconnecting and reconnecting the app in your MCP client's Apps settings. If the issue persists, contact us using the details below and describe what you were trying to do.
